Our CMS (Crowned Metal Sensor) is used with larger rupture disks, where the disk crown may extend beyond its holder and interfere with standard flat sensors.
The CMS is corrosion-resistant and suitable for temperatures up to 400°F / 204°C. This is achieved by using high-alloy, corrosion-resistant membranes, 316 Stainless Steel and strong cable connections with a shielded, insulated cable.
The CMS is installed on the vent side of a rupture disc assembly. It may be connected to an alarm or other computer-controlled system for fast failure recognition. As the sensor may fragment after the disc bursts, It is essential to ensure it discharges to a safe area. The sensor should not be installed upstream of a relief valve. It is designed to be compatible with our (F)RDI holder.
